His career reached new heights when he joined forces with the Jim Henson Company in 1986, initially serving as Deputy Supervisor of the Creature Shop in the UK before ascending to the role of Creative Supervisor. During his 23-year tenure with the company, Holt played a key role in shaping the creative direction of projects such as “George of the Jungle,” “The Phantom,” “Dr. Dolittle,” and “Scooby-Doo.”

In 1993, Holt relocated to Los Angeles to establish and oversee the Henson company’s first west-coast Creature Shop, where he spearheaded the production of Disney’s television show “Dinosaurs.” His responsibilities included overseeing puppetry, animatronics, and special effects for various film, television, and commercial projects, as well as leading research and development efforts in real-time 3D CG animation.

Following his tenure with the Henson Company, Holt spent three years consulting for Walt Disney Imagineering R&D, contributing his expertise to the development of innovative animatronic characters for public exhibits.

Throughout his extensive career, Holt continued to collaborate with and consult for various companies, leaving an indelible mark on the world of entertainment.
